Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene told Newsweek: "I haven't heard anything legit" that Johnson may suffer the fate of McCarthy.

"I felt last night's election was a real wake-up call," Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming told Newsweek.

“I'm not going to tell you when we will bring it to the floor, but it will be in time, how about that?" Speaker Mike Johnson said.

“Senator Tuberville has made clear that he doesn't care about our national security," Senator Elizabeth Warren told Newsweek.

“Democrats will have to accept a really serious U.S.-Mexico border protection bill in order to get our people on board," GOP Leader Mitch McConnell said.

“The great majority of senators and members of the House support funding for Ukraine and Israel," Senator Mitt Romney of Utah told Newsweek.

While Senate leaders from both parties stand united in their support for Ukraine, House Republicans are divided on the issue, jeopardizing an aid package.

“I want funding for Ukraine. I want funding for Israel. I think if we put them together, we probably have a better opportunity," GOP Senator Thom Tillis said.

After three weeks of arguing and three failed Speaker candidates, House Republicans finally chose their leader, Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson.

Emmer's candidacy for Speaker became imperiled after former President Donald Trump denounced the Minnesota Republican.

House Republicans took five rounds of voting to select Tom Emmer, a moderate, as their nominee for Speaker.

“I think it's a high point," Representative Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania said after Republicans voted 112-86 in favor of ending Jordan's bid for speaker.

“I just know that we need to get a speaker as soon as possible so we can get to work for the American people," Jordan said prior to his third loss.

Despite 22 Republicans refusing to provide Jim Jordan the support he needs to become speaker, MAGA refuses to let one of their leaders end his bid.

The House of Representatives failed once again to elect a new Speaker today after moderates Republicans stood firm in withholding their support for Jordan.
